SEC – Updated EDGAR System v21.1 to support 2021 XBRL taxonomies

March 23, 2021

Updated XBRL Taxonomies
The 2021 US GAAP taxonomy and the 2021 SEC Reporting Taxonomy (SRT) reflect the same taxonomies that the FASB had made available in December 2020. Other 2021 taxonomies are final versions of the draft made for public comment in September 2020. Refer to the final 2021 taxonomies’ Release Notes for details of the changes.

Do not anticipate the removal of 2019 US GAAP, SRT, or any prior year version before June 2021. Staff encouraged companies to use the most recent version of taxonomy releases for XBRL exhibits to take advantage of the most up-to-date tags for new accounting standards.

Filers consider transitioning to 2021 taxonomies for the earliest reporting period that ends after March 22, 2021, but not for reporting periods that end before March 22, 2021.
