ESMA Consults on proposed central clearing delay for small financial counterparties under EMIR

The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) published today a consultation paper on proposed changes to the phase-in period of central clearing of OTC derivatives for small financial counterparties. ESMA has proposed that the phase-in period be extended by a further two years for Category 3 institutions as defined by the EMIR Delegated Regulations.
