Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia 23rd August 2017 – AxiomSL, the global leader in regulatory reporting, data and risk management solutions, announced the appointment of David Wormald as its Asia-Pacific (APAC) Regional Sales Director. Based in Hong Kong, David will be responsible for the firm’s sales and business development activities in APAC.
David has more than 25 years of industry experience including his most recent role at Thomson Reuters Financial and Risk division as APAC Regional Sales Director for Enterprise Content & Capabilities. Prior to Thomson Reuters, he was the Regional Sales Manager for NYSE Technologies and APAC Head of Business Development for Broadridge in Hong Kong. David will join the senior leadership team at AxiomSL and report into APAC CEO, Peter Tierney, based in Singapore.
Welcoming David to the firm, Peter Tierney said, “As we continue to expand in APAC, we see great value in bringing on-board industry veterans like David. In addition to Singapore, and Australia, we are seeing increasing demand from Hong Kong and the North Asian market and aim to better serve our clients within this region with David being based in Hong Kong. David has spent a large part of his career holding senior leadership roles in APAC delivering successful go-to-market strategies in his previous roles. We look forward to having him drive our growing client base and steering our business to the next level.”
“2016 was a good year for our business and we expect to continue this success in 2017. We announced the appointment of a Country Manager in Australia earlier in the year and with David’s arrival, we are continuing to expand our ability to support the growth of our APAC customer base.” says Peter.
Commenting on his appointment David added, “I am delighted to be joining AxiomSL during this exciting phase of growth. I am encouraged to see that financial institutions in APAC are recognising the importance of systemic and strategic solutions when it comes to regulatory compliance reporting instead of opting for tactical and short-term fixes. Reporting mandates such as FATCA/CRS, MAS 610 and BCBS 239 will be part of banks’ daily operations for the next 5-10 years. Firms should take the opportunity to look at longer term goals by considering the benefits of tackling regulatory compliance as a strategic data management function. I’m excited to be joining the team and am looking forward to engaging with our clients, partners and prospects across APAC.”
