01 Jun Banca de España published a new template on debt moratorium due to COVID-19
May 27, 2020 -Banco de España (BdE) has published a new template ‘Información sobre moratoria de deudas por la crisis sanitaria provocada por el COVID-19’ to collect data on debt moratoria due to the health crisis caused by COVID-19. The template is published in regard to Royal Decree-Law 8/2020, of March 17 and Royal Decree-Law 11/2020, of March 31, which require supervised entities to report daily to the Bank of Spain information on the requests for a moratorium (suspension) of debt due to the urgent social and economic measures adopted in light of the health crisis caused by COVID-19.
To comply with this requirement, supervised entities must send the Excel template electronically to the Bank of Spain via the Financial Information Exchange System (SIF) portal.
The information must be submitted daily by those entities that have received requests for moratorium under the provisions of the aforementioned regulations. The data must be reported from Monday to Friday with the daily data corresponding to the previous day and the accumulated data from the day the first request was received.
Supervised entities must start reporting the data once they receive the first request for a moratorium (suspension) on loans due to COVID-19. Until then they should not submit the report as it will be regarded that no requests have been received by the entity. The information requested refers to the total business of the individual entity.
