BANXICO – Amendments to Circular 3/2012 regarding the ACLME-PD

July 23, 2020 – In order to continue promoting the healthy development and stability of the financial system, Banco de México, as well as addressing the need to modernize the regulatory framework for operations in foreign currency, has determined to expand the range of liquid assets in foreign currency in the terms of the regimes for the admission of liabilities and investment for passive operations in foreign currency, by including the long-term debt issuances in foreign currency placed abroad by the Federal Government, recognizing that their characteristics meet the criteria required.

Likewise, the treatment of checking accounts and demand deposits will be updated, taking into account the characteristics of the foreign currency financing markets.

This public consultation, once approved, will lead to changes to the ACLME-PD regulatory report.
